Tennessee has a Great ECONOMY…
First of all, we have no state income tax!! And if you will check the state budgets nationwide – you will find Tennessee near or in the last position for debt. We have no debt…Check it out! You’ll find that Homes for Sale in Nashville have lower taxes than most other parts of the country. I frequently hear about our lower taxes.
What about CLIMATE in Nashville?
We have four distinct seasons – but a short/mild winter. Very little snow and what we do get is usually melted before the day is over. Sometimes we get a surprise storm, but not very often. I’ve actually seen more ice storms than snowstorms. Tornadoes? I’ve been here 35 years and have seen about 5 tornadoes that actually caused a lot of damage. Floods? Well, we had a doozie back in 2010…but the worst of it was caused primarily when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers decided to drain water out of Old Hickory Lake, which is a dam on the Cumberland River. A lot of people wish they had notified the public before they did it! A lot of Nashville Real Estate was damaged during this floor – but the awesome people of Nashville really pulled together.
What about Nashville’s LOCATION?…
We are centrally located with 250 miles of Atlanta, Knoxville, Memphis, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington and Huntsville. Interstates I-40, I-24 and I-65 all intersect in Nashville. Of course, Nashville International Airport can easily get you to where you want to go in a hurry.
What about the PEOPLE in Nashville?…
“Friendly” is the word that comes to my mind. Nashville is home to some of the nicest people in the world. They define ‘Southern Hospitality”! I’m amazed at how the country music people come together whenever there is a disaster or need in the community. They donate their time and get in there with the rest of us and make things happen for the good. I’m so thankful to live here!
What about SCHOOLS in Nashville?…
In addition to the area public schools – Nashville offers a wide variety of private schools. Or, if you prefer, there are home schooling groups as well.
What Kind of Nashville Homes for Sale Will You Find?
Everything!! From lofts in Downtown Nashville to condos in the Gulch – the downtown area is for young people (or young at heart) who want to gather, socialize and shop close to home. For the artsy crowd – dont’ miss East Nashville. What a fun place to live, shop and visit. It’s just across the river from downtown. There are many older and historic homes that have been renovated – and so many shops, restaurants and breweries that you can’t help but have fun. I love just driving through the neighborhood. Luxury Homes? Oh Yes We Do!
Nashville is home to everyone. For Families – there are so many neighborhoods just made for kids and parents alike. For people that like acreage or horse properties – they’re easy to find. And if you want a small home for retirement or downsizing (like me) – we can easily find it for you.
If you want to live on the lake – Old Hickory Lake is the place for you. There are several lakes in the Nashville area – but only Old Hickory offers lakefront residential living. These homes are primarily located in Hendersonville, Gallatin, Old Hickory, Lebanon and Mt. Juliet…but we can find lakefront homes in Hartsville as well. There are also riverfront homes on the Cumberland if that’s more your style.
Wherever you go in or around Nashville, the scenery is simply beautiful. Rolling hills and lake views make it an extraordinary place to live. Actually, you will find that Nashville is usually on someone’s list for the best place to live in America. Not only Nashville, but Brentwood, Franklin, Hendersonville and Gallatin (which was just voted Readers Digest “Nicest Place in America“) are on those lists as well. Why? Because they are some of the best places in the country to live! Most of the communities around Nashville are very safe and family friendly. And did I mention beautiful?
Many people ask us about how to sell a house. We’ve answered that question and you can read the post here – How to Sell a Home
