Portland is north of Nashville and nearby towns include Franklin, KY, Gallatin, White House, Springfield and Westmoreland.  The highway construction is still underway – but when it finishes, it will be a connecting route from I-40 at the Gallatin exit to I-65 in Portland.  The bridge crossing the Cumberland River is finished and open.  Hopefully, it won’t be much longer to full completion.
