Old Hickory Homes in an HOA

One of my favorite areas in Old Hickory is Old Hickory Village.  It was originally built by DuPont to house its’ workers.  It reminds me of where my grandmother used to live when she was a child up in the mountains- in a neighborhood just like this…except it was built by International Harvester to house coal miners families in Benham, KY.  There were bungalow type homes for supervisory personnel – and smaller homes or duplexes for the other workers.  These homes in Old Hickory Village are being restored and many of them are now on the Historical Register.  It’s great just to drive through the neighborhood and see what’s been done!

So close to downtown Nashville – and on Old Hickory Lake!  The best of both worlds.  Just a few minutes drive will get you to all the fun, entertainment and dining in Nashville.  It’s also near Opry Mills Mall for great shopping!
