Hermitage is in Davidson County and very near to downtown Nashville. Hermitage is named for President Andrew Jackson’s homeplace, The Hermitage. 
Many streets and subdivisions in Hermitage are named for him as well. You’ll find homes for sale on Old Hickory Lake, and you can play golf at the Hermitage Golf Course, which is on the Cumberland River. There are also two other golf courses in the area – Two Rivers Golf Course and Gaylord Springs, which is part of the Opryland complex. Donelson and Old Hickory are adjoining communities with homes very similar to the ones in Hermitage.
If you like lake and water activities, you’ll find a public boat ramp on J. Percy Priest Lake. You can camp, fish or rent a houseboat…but be sure to reserve it early. Don’t miss Nashville Shores in the summer time. It’s an awesome water park with many activities for all age groups. Like to hike? Check out the Stones River Greenway.
Hermitage is located at I-40 – just east of downtown Nashville. If you need medical attention – Tri-Star Summit Medical Center is located right there in Hermitage.
