East Nashville – Make it a Destination
One of the most fun parts of East Nashville is Five Points, which is almost a tourist attraction in itself. So many unique shops, restaurants and breweries. In fact, you can take a bus tour that visits several of the local breweries – and sample their brews if you like.
East Nashville is just across the Cumberland River from downtown Nashville – reached buy driving northeast on U.S. 31E (Gallatin Road) for just a few minutes. It’s mostly residential, but you will find a lot of renovation in progress.
You can still find a house to renovate – but you will have to search for it. There are more elegant neighborhoods in Nashville – but I think East Nashville is the most ‘fun’ place to live!
A recommended restaurant is called ‘The Pharmacy‘, which is a burger and brew house. I believe even a former mayor’s son owns one of the East Nashville breweries. This is some of the best food, shopping and entertainment that you will find anywhere in Nashville. Don’t miss it! You can spend a whole afternoon just walking around and discovering what’s there. Want to play golf? Top Golf has a new spot right here in Nashville….and believe me, you want to go! Top Golf Nashville even added a couple of live music venues right inside their new facility! Gaylord Springs, Harpeth Hills & Ted Rhodes Golf Courses are just a couple of courses to check out in the Nashville areas. Parks…yes, and they are gorgeous! First visit The Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Shelby Dog Park and Shelby Bottoms Nature Centers and Greenway will be great fun for you and your family…and even little Fido! Be sure to try the East Nashville Farmer’s Market All this…and the Cumberland River flows around this part of town.
